Download and Extraction Instructions: Audio & Text

STEP 1 - DOWNLOADING
Click on the DOWNLOAD link. (The icon)   You may be prompted with a window asking:  What would you like to do with this file ?  Select : "Save this program to disk", and click OK.
You will be prompted with a window similar to this:

It is recommended that you create a central folder where you download your feeds. In this example we used the folder called "download" located on our C drive.

Double click the directory you wish to save the file in, then click on SAVE.
It may take some time to download depending on your connect speed and the number of audio cuts that are contained in today's feed.

STEP 2 - EXTRACTING
Open up Windows Explorer. Open the folder where you just saved the file to.  Now double-click on the file you just downloaded.
It will begin self-extracting all the files to a directory called c:\launchradio

STEP 3 - VIEWING AND PLAYING
You should now see a word document and MPEG audio files in your c:\launchradio  directory.
VIEWING WORD FILE - Click on the word document. Word should come up
automatically. If you don't have MS-WORD, it should open up Wordpad instead.(located in PROGRAMS /
ACCESSORIES in your start menu). You can always view the text material on-line by clicking
on VIEW TEXT FEED.
PLAYING MPEG-2 FILES - You need the Qdesign MPEG player. Don't have it?
Download it here

STEP 4- SAVING THE MPEG AUDIO AS .WAV (optional)
Some users need to import the soundbites into their digital workstations.  Our soundbites can be saved as 32 kHz .WAV files.
If your digital workstation is locked for 44.1 kHz files, you may need to upsample our audio to match it using the .WAV editor of your choice (cool edit, sound forge, goldwave, etc).
To save .MPA or .MP2 as a .WAV file:
1. Open the .MPA soundbite in the QDesign Audio Player (available for
download on our website)
2. Choose "File" / "Save Uncompressed" and a dialog box will appear.  (see below LEFT)
3. Choose a target directory and click "SAVE". (see below RIGHT)
4. The file will convert to a 32kHz WAV file to the directory that you specified.

If you're running Windows NT workstation and get an error when running the self-extracting file....Try creating a "launchradio" folder on your C: drive manually before running the .EXE file. If you have other technical questions, please E-mail us at webteam@launchradionetworks.com
